Kavarna - a place rich in history which has preserved its innocence and charm of its unique nature whilst at the same is developing as a major centre for golf.  Kavarna is situated in the northern part of the Black Sea coast, some 50 kms northwest of Varna (the biggest port city in Bulgaria).  There is a fishing base, a yacht port, a beautiful beach resort and a resort complex at Kavarna.  The landscape lowlands and hillsides.  The picturesque coast of Kavarna is 42 kms long with small beaches dotted along it.  There is a large man maid beach in the town.  The barely accessible mountain, Cape Chirakman rises above the sea with its steep slopes.  There are ruins of an old fortress, fosses, churches and old buildings at Kavarna.  As well as its beautiful nature and interesting historical sights, the region of Kavarna is fast becoming an attractive tourist destination for golf-lovers.  This is due to the construction of new golf courses which are being opened by Ian Woosnam and Gary Player.  One of them is situated between the towns of Balchik and Kavarna on a plateau overlooking the sea.  The second one will be situated along the coastline, near the sea, 3 kms away from Kavarna.  Gary Player says “Bulgaria is going to have the best golf course in the world.”
